Staff Product Designer - Agent Experience
Own the end-to-end Agent Experience program at Render, designing coherent workflows across developer-facing programmatic surfaces and human supervision interfaces. The role requires 7+ years of product design experience and exceptional craft across web UI, CLI, APIs, SDKs, documentation, and trust-related workflows.
About the job
Responsibilities
- Design the full programmatic interface across the CLI, API, MCP, SDKs, Blueprints, and Skills as one coherent product.
- Own interaction models and error language so agents can deploy, verify, debug, and iterate reliably.
- Design documentation, Blueprints, Skills, and reference material as agent-facing product experiences.
- Create a configuration-first onboarding path using Blueprints for one-motion deployment.
- Design dashboard surfaces that show humans what agents deployed, retried, or failed, including review and supervision workflows.
- Design agent authentication and access management, including consent, scoping, token management, usage visibility, and revocation.
- Establish a consistent model for applications, services, and environments across the dashboard, CLI, API, SDKs, MCP, and Blueprints.
- Surface agent-operable paths at high-intent moments through prompts, CLI installation flows, and post-error suggestions.
Requirements
- 7+ years of product design experience, ideally with developer tools, infrastructure, APIs, or other technical products.
- Experience owning a major product surface or area end to end and setting direction for others.
- Strong craft across GUI and non-GUI surfaces, including web UI, command design, API ergonomics, SDK or MCP design, documentation-as-experience, or conversational interfaces.
- Ability to design complete end-to-end journeys rather than isolated surfaces.
- High attention to detail in interface wording, commands, API responses, and dashboard experiences.
