Manager, Account Management

About the role

Responsibilities

  • Own team-level retention and expansion targets, translating company NRR goals into individual quotas.
  • Recruit, hire, and ramp Account Managers.
  • Run coaching cadences, including deal reviews, call shadowing, and QBR preparation.
  • Maintain forecasting rigor across the team's book of business.
  • Partner with RevOps and Sales leadership on segmentation, territory assignment, and health-scoring models.
  • Identify systemic churn patterns and drive proactive intervention playbooks.
  • Document SOPs, templates, QBR structures, renewal motions, and expansion methodologies.
  • Design a distinct account-management motion for smaller or early-stage accounts.
  • Collaborate with Support, Product, and Engineering to resolve complex customer issues and represent customer needs in roadmap discussions.
  • Partner with Sales and Activations leadership on account strategy from close through onboarding and steady-state management.

Requirements

  • 4–5 years of B2B account management, customer success, or sales experience.
  • 2–3 years of direct experience managing a quota-carrying team.
  • Track record of leading a team to meet or exceed retention and expansion targets.
  • Strong coaching and performance-diagnosis skills.
  • Experience building or substantially improving account-management processes, playbooks, or tooling.
  • Comfort with forecasting and reporting rigor.
  • Fluency with a modern customer-success or sales stack.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Adaptability and comfort with the pace and ambiguity of an early-stage startup.

Nice to Have

  • Experience managing Account Managers serving early-stage startup or high-growth B2B SaaS customers.
  • Experience scaling an Account Management function during rapid headcount growth.
  • Experience designing compensation structures, quota frameworks, or account segmentation and tiering models.
