About the role
Responsibilities
Own vendor negotiation strategy across major spend categories, including SaaS, data partnerships, hosting, professional services, and marketing, with a focus on year-over-year savings.
Audit existing vendor contracts to identify renegotiation opportunities, unfavorable terms, and renewals worth challenging.
Run competitive sourcing events, including RFPs, RFQs, and reverse auctions, to benchmark pricing and create leverage.
Lead commercial negotiations from opening anchor through redline and signature, focusing on unit price, payment terms, caps, and exit rights.
Build and maintain savings tracking for realized savings, cost avoidance, and savings pipeline for Finance leadership.
Develop negotiation playbooks by vendor category.
Partner with Legal on MSAs, order forms, and DPAs, flagging commercial risks and driving resolution.
Track renewal calendars and market benchmarks to ensure contracts receive competitive review before renewal.
Evaluate, select, and implement a procurement intake and approval platform such as Zip or Ramp.
Define approval routing, purchase-order thresholds, and stakeholder workflows.
Integrate procurement tooling with the ERP and Ramp so purchase orders, approvals, and invoices flow cleanly end to end.
Build spend reporting and dashboards covering committed spend, open purchase orders, realized savings, and renewal pipeline.
Requirements
6–10 years of procurement or strategic sourcing experience with a demonstrable savings track record.
Expert negotiation skills, including experience closing complex, high-value SaaS and vendor contracts.
Deep familiarity with SaaS and AI pricing models, contract structures, and vendor negotiation opportunities.
Experience running competitive sourcing events from scratch.
Strong financial judgment and the ability to build financial models and evaluate pricing.
Hands-on experience implementing a procure-to-pay or intake platform such as Zip, Coupa, or a similar tool.
Ability to operate independently in ambiguous environments.
Ability to challenge vendors while maintaining strong relationships.
