Director, Engineering - Detection Platform

What You'll Do

• Lead a multi-team engineering organization responsible for alerting, event management, monitor creation experiences, and autonomous detection capabilities.
• Define and execute the technical and organizational strategy for the Detection Platform while aligning stakeholders across Engineering, Product, Design, and Applied Science.
• Drive innovation in AI-powered detection, anomaly identification, and signal generation that helps customers proactively identify and resolve issues.
• Scale highly available platform systems that process hundreds of millions of evaluations while maintaining reliability, performance, and operational excellence.
• Develop and mentor engineering managers and technical leaders, fostering a culture of execution, collaboration, and technical rigor.
• Champion customer-centric product thinking by balancing platform investments with intuitive user experiences and measurable customer outcomes.

Who You Are

• Significant experience leading engineering organizations that build large-scale platforms, infrastructure, observability, monitoring, or developer-facing products.
• Combine deep technical expertise with strong product instincts and can make architectural decisions while understanding customer needs and business impact.
• Experience leading leaders and managing engineering managers across multiple teams and domains.
• Track record of defining long-term technical vision, building organizational alignment, and delivering complex initiatives through execution.
• Experience working with machine learning, AI-enabled products, intelligent automation, or large-scale detection systems, either directly or through close partnership with specialized teams.
• Effective communicator who can inspire teams, influence senior stakeholders, and navigate ambiguity while driving measurable outcomes.
