Responsibilities
- Work on Sentry's JavaScript SDKs with focus on server-side and edge runtimes including Node.js, Bun, Deno, and Cloudflare Workers
- Plan, implement, and ship features with full end-to-end ownership including unit/integration tests and documentation
- Utilize AI tools to enhance productivity and problem-solving
- Collaborate with open-source community including TC39, Node.js core team, and OpenTelemetry SIG
- Assist Customer Operations team with critical bugs and engage with users on GitHub and at conferences
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience as a Software Engineer or similar role
- Deep expertise developing web applications, libraries, or SDKs using TypeScript/JavaScript
- Hands-on experience with Node.js and exposure to modern server runtimes (Bun, Deno, or Cloudflare Workers)
- Understanding of runtime differences in module systems, APIs, performance, and deployment models
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English
- Based in San Francisco (Bay Area) or willing to relocate
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with WinterCG or runtime interoperability initiatives
- Familiarity with OpenTelemetry instrumentation in server-side/edge environments
- History of contributing to or maintaining open-source libraries
- Experience engaging with open-source committees or working groups
