About the role

Responsibilities

  • Work on Sentry's JavaScript SDKs with focus on server-side and edge runtimes including Node.js, Bun, Deno, and Cloudflare Workers
  • Plan, implement, and ship features with full end-to-end ownership including unit/integration tests and documentation
  • Utilize AI tools to enhance productivity and problem-solving
  • Collaborate with open-source community including TC39, Node.js core team, and OpenTelemetry SIG
  • Assist Customer Operations team with critical bugs and engage with users on GitHub and at conferences

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience as a Software Engineer or similar role
  • Deep expertise developing web applications, libraries, or SDKs using TypeScript/JavaScript
  • Hands-on experience with Node.js and exposure to modern server runtimes (Bun, Deno, or Cloudflare Workers)
  • Understanding of runtime differences in module systems, APIs, performance, and deployment models
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Based in San Francisco (Bay Area) or willing to relocate

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience with WinterCG or runtime interoperability initiatives
  • Familiarity with OpenTelemetry instrumentation in server-side/edge environments
  • History of contributing to or maintaining open-source libraries
  • Experience engaging with open-source committees or working groups
