Senior Software Engineer, Card Authorization

Responsibilities

• Write reliable, secure, scalable code for real-time card authorization and fraud-prevention systems.
• Build customer-facing features including rules improvements, velocity controls, 3D Secure flows, fraud tooling, and transaction monitoring.
• Own projects from planning through launch.
• Improve system reliability and participate in the team on-call rotation.
• Lead efforts to improve team systems and processes.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience building production backend systems.
• Experience with or willingness to learn Rust.
• Ability to understand systems written in Python and Java.
• Interest and experience using AI tools to improve productivity.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity, align diverse perspectives, and drive practical solutions.
• Experience or interest in payments, fintech, or fraud prevention.
• Experience designing systems from scratch and owning product development end-to-end.
• Strong written communication skills.
• Experience working in a remote, async-first team across time zones.
