Senior Software Engineer, Product Platform

Responsibilities

• Write reliable, secure, and scalable code for the product platform while minimizing technical debt.
• Improve system reliability and participate in the team’s on-call rotation.
• Own projects from planning through launch, including API key management, reliability, audit logging, and search.
• Keep stakeholders informed and aligned throughout project delivery.
• Lead improvements to team systems and processes.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience building production backend systems, ideally public-facing APIs at scale.
• Experience with or willingness to learn Rust.
• Ability to understand systems written in Python and Java.
• Experience or interest in using AI tools to improve productivity.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity, align diverse perspectives, and drive practical solutions.
• Understanding of API design fundamentals, including versioning, backward compatibility, and schema-driven development.
• Product thinking and ability to weigh tradeoffs from the customer’s perspective.
• Experience designing systems from scratch and owning product development end to end.
• Strong written communication skills.
• Experience working effectively in a remote, asynchronous team across time zones.

Compensation

• Annual US salary: $160,000–$200,000, plus equity.
