Build and own backend software for a private-markets investment platform, contributing across the full development lifecycle. Responsibilities
- Own the delivery of high-quality software projects, coordinating with teammates and stakeholders to meet agreed timelines.
- Contribute across specification, implementation, code review, QA testing, deployment, and operations.
- Seek context and rapidly iterate on solutions to eliminate ambiguity and drive projects forward.
- Participate actively in engineering recruiting, including interviewing, problem specification, and role ownership.
- Communicate with stakeholders, teammates, and managers to unblock progress.
Requirements
- 6+ years of hands-on software development experience, with a strong emphasis on individual contribution.
- A four-year technical degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Background or demonstrated interest in investment management, fintech, or financial data.
- Proficiency in Python, REST APIs, and SQL.
- Familiarity with TypeScript, React, and AWS.
- Strong understanding of distributed-system tradeoffs, including data modeling, API design, and performance tuning at scale.
- Deep understanding of testing and delivery practices, including pytest and CI/CD.
- Experience applying AI/LLMs to data extraction, data interrogation, and document generation.
- Ability to thrive in ambiguity, execute independently, and communicate clearly and calmly in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Authorization to work for any employer in the United States; visa sponsorship is unavailable.
Compensation and Benefits
- Cash salary range: $160,000–$240,000, dependent on skills, experience, and expected contribution.
