Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain critical internal and customer-facing software systems.
- Lead the development of backend services, APIs, and scalable infrastructure.
- Own major projects from architecture through deployment and ongoing maintenance.
- Work across the stack to rapidly ship products and features.
- Partner with operations, finance, underwriting, and leadership teams to automate complex workflows.
- Improve system reliability, performance, security, and scalability.
- Make architectural decisions and establish engineering best practices.
- Mentor engineers and help raise the technical bar across the team.
- Help shape the future direction of the engineering organization.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering work experience.
- Exceptional software engineering fundamentals.
- Comfort operating with limited structure and high levels of responsibility.
- Strong product and business intuition.
- High ownership and relentless execution.
- Ability to balance speed with sound technical judgment.
- Experience designing distributed systems and scalable applications.
- Experience owning production systems and making architectural decisions.
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, APIs, databases, and modern development practices.

Compensation and Benefits
- £140,000–£200,000 plus equity.
