Responsibilities
- Build and ship backend features in a Django monolith, including document viewing, editing, embeds, exports, and greenfield systems.
- Optimize database queries, endpoints, and caching layers to improve performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and frontend engineers to deliver reliable experiences at scale.
- Contribute to technical discussions and architectural evolution.
- Maintain strong engineering practices through code reviews, automated testing, observability, and performance improvements.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building backend applications at high scale and availability.
- Extensive experience with Python.
- Experience optimizing endpoint performance and database queries.
- Strong advocacy for automated testing.
- Knowledge of software engineering best practices.

Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $145,000–$230,000, varying by location.
