Senior Software Engineer, Cloud Platform Foundations
Build and operate foundational infrastructure for Temporal Cloud, including multi-tenant control-plane systems, database scaling, HA/DR, deployment automation, and CI/CD. Requires senior backend engineering experience with cloud infrastructure, relational databases, high availability, and systems operating at scale.

Responsibilities
- Build and operate foundational infrastructure for Temporal Cloud, focusing on reliability, scalability, and automation.
- Enable continuous regional failover and improve high availability and disaster recovery.
- Automate control-plane operations to improve reliability and developer efficiency.
- Scale database systems while maintaining latency, reliability, and availability.
- Redesign deployment workflows from commit to production as deployment frequency and engineering headcount grow.
- Build reliable CI/CD pipelines for safer rollouts, faster iteration, and improved test coverage.
- Evolve multi-tenant control-plane systems, reduce blast radius, improve namespace density, and strengthen operational safety.
Requirements
- Backend engineering experience with a cloud or infrastructure focus, ideally including operations exposure.
- Experience working on control-plane teams for cloud-based microservices.
- Experience building or operating multi-tenant SaaS applications.
- Familiarity with density-oriented cloud-provider architectures.
- Strong PostgreSQL or comparable relational database experience.
- Experience designing for high availability and managing compute and traffic at scale.
- Strong database expertise and a preference for building tools rather than relying solely on configuration.
- CLI and DevOps fluency.
