About the role
Responsibilities
- Build, lead, and hire a high-caliber team of software engineers
- Be hands-on while guiding technical decisions that meet quality, performance, and organizational priorities
- Design, develop, test, and scale new and existing consumer product features
- Encourage innovation and foster continuous improvement
- Set expectations, establish team objectives aligned with business goals
- Work closely with Product Management to deliver precise user solutions
- Contribute to overall engineering initiatives as part of Chime’s engineering leadership team
Requirements
- 2+ years of people management experience
- Prior experience as a software engineer with deep empathy for engineering teams
- Experience coaching team members on project execution, skill development, and career progression
- Strong interest in pushing technology, people, and organizational boundaries
- Passion for building teams that thrive and delivering on aggressive schedules
- Technical familiarity with Ruby, React Native, Distributed Systems, AWS services, and Service Oriented Architectures
