Responsibilities
- Lead and grow a team of product designers working across acquisition, activation, and re-engagement.
- Set strategic vision through storytelling and vision sprints, turning complex problems into product directions and experimentation proposals.
- Balance growth velocity, user value, product quality, and responsible design.
- Uphold high design standards and create engaging new-user experiences that respect user agency and build trust.
- Partner with product, engineering, and data science leaders on strategy and execution.
- Champion informed design using product design, user research, and data.
- Foster a culture of creative excellence, empathy, and innovation.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in scaled, consumer-facing digital product design, ideally involving growth, onboarding, acquisition, or lifecycle experiences.
- 4+ years of direct management experience leading design teams of four or more.
- Ability to simplify complex problems and turn insights into compelling product directions.
- Experience designing acquisition, activation, or lifecycle experiences and understanding how early product moments influence retention.
- Strong communication skills with peers and executive stakeholders.
- Empathetic leadership, including developing and staffing direct reports effectively.
- Comfort operating amid ambiguity and balancing business goals with user value.
- Working understanding of and curiosity about AI-assisted design workflows, including ideation, prototyping, and generative UI.
Nice-to-haves
- Personal use of Discord and/or gaming experience.
- Experience with growth experimentation frameworks and data-driven design iteration.
- Understanding of user growth across notifications, search/SEO, onboarding, and shareable or viral loops.
- Background in behavioral psychology, habit formation, or user motivation.
Compensation
- US base salary: $272,000–$306,000 annually, plus equity and benefits.
