Senior Software Engineer, Crusoe Container Registry

What You'll Be Working On

• Own the core services behind Crusoe Cloud's managed container registry, serving the images that training and inference workloads run on.
• Take strategic, high-impact components from design through production, and stay accountable for their scalability, reliability and maintainability.
• Drive performance improvements, squash bottlenecks, get ahead of demand before it arrives. Make the architecture tradeoffs that keep the system dependable as it grows.
• Guide the team through architecture decisions and design and code reviews, while remaining actively involved in the codebase to tackle complex challenges.
• Shape technical designs within the team and across adjacent ones. Drive dialogue with product and platform partners to align on priorities and system trade-offs.

What You'll Bring to the Team

• Proven success designing, scaling, and hardening distributed systems, all while keeping them reliable under high-load production environments.
• Practical experience profiling, benchmarking, and optimizing distributed systems, with sound judgment about latency, throughput, caching, and resource tradeoffs.
• Thrive on transforming ambiguous performance problems into measured action and durable fixes. Work ahead of demand, identifying constraints before they reach customers.
• Led complex projects from design through deployment, carried them in production, and made difficult calls under visible risk and conflicting requirements.
• Keep customers top of mind, and translate their needs into actionable changes in the codebase.
• Strong fundamentals in microservices and cloud-native infrastructure technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform) alongside languages like Go, Rust, Java, or C++.
• Comfortable working across functions to align on priorities and to explain technical tradeoffs clearly to technical and non-technical partners alike.
• Interest in growing other engineers, such as mentoring teammates on the team's systems, helping newer engineers find their footing, or contributing to how we hire.
• 5 - 8 years of professional software development experience, including time spent building and operating distributed systems.

Compensation Range

Compensation will be paid in the range of up to $170,000 - $205,000 + Bonus. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers. Compensation to be determined by the applicant's knowledge, education, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
