Staff Brand Designer

Owns Gumloop’s visual identity and brand direction across product, marketing, and other touchpoints. The role requires exceptional visual craft, strong creative judgment, independent execution, and the ability to communicate technical ideas clearly.

Responsibilities

  • Shape the core narrative of the Gumloop brand across every external- and internal-facing touchpoint.
  • Define a unique direction and style for communicating technical ideas through clear, compelling visuals.
  • Take ownership of every detail.
  • Own projects end-to-end, from concept through launch, working directly with product and marketing.
  • Distill actionable insights from brand feedback and conversations, then turn them into work.
  • Hold the highest bar of craft at the company.

Requirements

  • Experience creating original brand work demonstrating exceptional visual craft and strong creative direction.
  • Strong opinions about how a brand should make others feel, combined with self-awareness.
  • Ability to clearly articulate why something works and why it does not.
  • Experience operating independently and setting or significantly evolving a company’s visual identity, ideally as a solo designer, early design hire, independent practitioner, or highly autonomous studio designer.
  • Aptitude for learning new tools that enable creative expression.
  • Judgment to know when work meets the bar, needs another round, or is good enough to maintain momentum.

Nice-to-haves

  • Motion design or animation experience.
  • Experience developing characters, illustration systems, or brand mascots.
  • Experience creating brands for AI, technical audiences, developers, or enterprise software products.
