The Model Developer owns end-to-end delivery of production-grade Python and predictive models, partnering with customer actuarial teams to solve complex modelling problems. The role also contributes to engineering standards, testing, code review, and mentoring junior developers.

Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end model delivery on hx Renew, from scoping and build through testing, iteration, and customer delivery.
- Build and maintain production-grade Python models using modern engineering and modelling practices.
- Work directly with customer actuarial teams and internal stakeholders to solve complex, ambiguous modelling and coding problems.
- Raise quality across the team through code review, testing, and contributions to best-practice model development guidance.
- Support and mentor junior model developers through pairing, feedback, and day-to-day delivery support.
- Improve model development standards, tooling, and ways of working.
Requirements
- Production-grade Python development experience in complex or data-heavy environments.
- Experience applying predictive modelling or advanced analytics in real-world settings.
- Ownership of ambiguous problems, creating structure and driving them through to high-quality outcomes.
- Experience working directly with non-technical stakeholders or customers and translating requirements into robust technical solutions.
- Ability to operate proactively in a high-trust, high-accountability environment.
