Responsibilities
- Execute end-to-end ocean shipments across FCL and LCL import and export operations, including bookings, documentation, planning, and milestone tracking.
- Communicate with clients, carriers, trucking providers, CFS and warehouse operators, customs teams, and freight vendors.
- Troubleshoot shipment exceptions proactively and escalate issues with clear context and recommended actions.
- Maintain accurate data in Flexport systems to meet KPIs and client SLAs.
- Support account managers and customs teams in delivering a strong client experience.
- Identify operational bottlenecks and design scalable solutions using AI, code, and automation.
- Build or contribute to internal tools, dashboards, and workflows that reduce manual effort and improve data quality.
- Use AI tools in daily work, analyze shipment data, and share process-improvement learnings.
- Collaborate with country management, operations leads, and sales teams on priorities, client needs, regional strategy, and commercial decisions.
Requirements
- Experience in freight forwarding, supply chain, logistics operations, or a related field.
- 3+ years of professional logistics or supply chain operations experience, including hands-on ocean operations, particularly involving the US/Canada and EMEA.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to generate data-driven insights.
- Understanding of the AI landscape and ability to identify, implement, and scale AI tools for operational efficiency.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Process-oriented, structured, proactive, adaptable, and comfortable making decisions amid ambiguity.
- Interest in technology adoption and continuous improvement.
- Strong relationship-management and client-service mindset.
