Head of Strategic Finance

Leads strategic finance for a high-growth healthtech company, owning financial modeling, planning, reporting, fundraising support, and revenue operations while partnering with executives and cross-functional leaders. Requires 8+ years spanning investment banking or private equity and startup strategic finance or FP&A.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain the long-term financial model across revenue, headcount, operating expenses, cash, and runway.
  • Own monthly and quarterly budget-versus-actuals processes, analyze variances, and communicate performance against plan.
  • Own financial and operating reporting for senior leadership and the board, including KPIs, financial performance, burn, runway, and business trends.
  • Support fundraising through forecasts, financial analyses, diligence materials, data rooms, and investor requests.
  • Manage external accountants and tax partners and own an accurate, timely month-end close.
  • Partner with Sales, Product, Engineering, Operations, and People on headcount planning, budgets, investments, and business cases.
  • Define and improve business metrics, including ARR, retention, gross margin, customer cohorts, and SaaS and healthcare operating metrics.
  • Build models and analyses for pricing, new products, hiring, go-to-market investments, and other company initiatives.
  • Manage customer order forms and contracts in partnership with Sales, Account Management, and legal counsel.
  • Build the Revenue Operations function and partner with Sales, Account Management, and Operations on forecasting, performance, and growth.
  • Work directly with the CEO and board on reporting, planning, and strategic decisions.
  • Establish finance processes, systems, and reporting infrastructure; improve planning and performance communication.
  • Help build the finance team and expand the function over time.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience, beginning in investment banking or private equity and followed by strategic finance or FP&A experience at a high-growth company.
  • Strong financial modeling skills, including the ability to build a model from scratch.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with large amounts of data and turn it into clear insights.
  • Ability to work independently and own projects from start to finish.
  • Comfort operating in a fast-moving environment where processes are still being built.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to explain financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Previous strategic finance or FP&A experience at a startup.
  • Experience building financial processes from scratch.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in healthcare, SaaS, or another high-growth technology company.
  • Familiarity with SaaS metrics and unit economics.
  • Experience supporting a fundraising process.
  • Experience with QuickBooks, Ramp, Rippling, or similar tools.

Compensation

  • Base salary: $175,000–$200,000.
  • Meaningful equity ownership in a fast-growing healthtech startup.
