Responsibilities
- Lead the China Routing and Data Service engineering team.
- Ramp up on the team's technology, product, and business goals, including hands-on work to develop deep technical understanding.
- Lead, mentor, retain, grow, and hire a high-performing engineering team.
- Foster a culture emphasizing product thinking, technical depth, customer-centric problem solving, technical quality, and engineering excellence.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and deliver intuitive, scalable routing and data solutions.
- Define and drive long-term technical strategy and architecture.
- Set priorities and strategic direction with cross-functional partners.
- Improve team processes, collaboration, execution efficiency, and delivery quality.
- Lead complex, cross-functional initiatives with measurable business impact.
- Align technical efforts with business outcomes and product priorities.
- Enable individual contributors to lead technical initiatives across platforms and organizations.
- Build a strong and diverse team capable of delivering ambitious product visions.
Requirements
- 9+ years of relevant software development industry experience in a fast-paced technology environment.
- 2+ years of experience managing engineering teams delivering large-impact work.
- Bachelor's and/or master's degree, preferably in computer science, or equivalent experience.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder-influence skills.
- Experience working with multiple engineering teams and cross-functional partners.
- Strong expertise building large-scale backend systems and experience with user-facing features.
- Strong product and design judgment, with experience building well-designed user experiences.
- Experience leading and shipping large initiatives with significant business impact.
- Experience promoting operational excellence, quality, reliability, and availability.
- Ability to balance short-term business needs with long-term technical quality.
- Experience fostering an inclusive and engaging team environment.
- Ability to identify, retain, grow, and acquire critical talent.
- Fluency in English and Mandarin.

Work Arrangement
- Remote within Mainland China.
- Occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites may be required, as agreed with the manager.
