Responsibilities
- Manage an initial team of three product designers and hire additional designers.
- Establish shared rituals, hiring processes, and planning cadences across Consumer Banking and Business Banking.
- Coach designers working across established and 0-to-1 products.
- Define goals, success metrics, scopes, sequencing, and milestones with product and engineering partners.
- Raise design quality through critique and review while establishing standards for new products.
- Remain hands-on with high-stakes design decisions, particularly SMB Banking's path to beta.
- Partner with product and engineering leads, as well as Risk, Compliance, Legal, Data, and Operations teams.
- Coordinate with adjacent design and product teams to create a cohesive financial ecosystem.
- Create individualized career development plans for direct reports.
- Represent Banking design needs, including headcount, quality investment, and tooling, to senior design leadership.
Requirements
- 10+ years of product design experience.
- 4+ years of people management experience, ideally managing senior designers or higher.
- Prior experience as a player-coach and established design manager.
- Experience leading designers across products at different stages, including established products and 0-to-1 initiatives.
- Portfolio and management experience demonstrating high-quality work in consumer or business financial products.
- Experience incorporating AI tools and practices into team design workflows.

- Fintech, banking, or financial platform experience.
- Experience partnering with Risk, Compliance, or Legal on regulated financial products, including KYC/KYB, identity verification, money movement rails, or partner bank relationships.
Compensation
- San Francisco and New York: $178,000–$253,000 per year.
- Denver: $147,000–$215,000 per year.
