Requires completion of at least two years of a relevant degree and experience with electrical design tools.

About the job

Responsibilities

  • Own a hardware development project tailored to the co-op's start date, duration, and location.
  • Contribute to autonomous aircraft development and critical-path engineering objectives.
  • Design circuit boards involving analog, digital, mixed-signal, and high-speed circuits for prototype flight-computer testing.
  • Design, simulate, and verify high-voltage power electronics, including DC/DC converters and DC/AC inverters above 10 kW.
  • Bring up and validate avionics systems with guidance from a senior engineer.
  • Identify bugs and drive corrective changes.
  • Build test racks to provide fully automated test coverage for flight-critical subsystems.
  • Run HALT campaigns to assess circuit-board reliability.

Requirements

  • Completed at least the second year of a relevant degree, typically electrical engineering.
  • Strong technical fundamentals.
  • Participation in an engineering team or club.
  • Experience with electrical design software and tools such as Altium, KiCad, and oscilloscopes.
  • Demonstrated ownership of project outcomes and ability to deliver results.
  • Ability to work as a trustworthy, collaborative teammate and maintain high standards.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Paid, full-time co-op program spanning multiple months during the academic year.
