Field Service Engineer

Maintains, repairs, commissions, and calibrates complex scanner hardware at customer sites and in-house facilities. The role requires broad computer, electrical, and mechanical troubleshooting skills, strong customer communication, and frequent travel.

Responsibilities

Commission and calibrate Lumafield scanners.
Perform preventative maintenance and repairs at customer sites.
Travel frequently to customer sites (approximately 75%).
Maintain the in-house scanner fleet when not working in the field.
Troubleshoot, tune, and calibrate production systems with engineering teams.
Refine standard operating procedures to improve safety, quality, and efficiency.
Create, update, and maintain training materials and safety guidelines.
Follow written procedures and identify deviations or problems.
Write service reports and clearly communicate situations and issues to teammates providing remote support.
Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, customer success, and fleet operations teams.

Requirements

Experience with computer, electrical, and mechanical systems, including sensors and actuators.
Comfortable using common hand tools, such as drills and torque wrenches.
Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
Meticulous attention to detail.
Professional communication with customers and suppliers.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Enjoys collaborating across teams.

Nice-to-Haves

Experience troubleshooting computer, electrical, and mechanical issues.
IT skills.
Linux proficiency.
Experience in customer-facing environments.
Hands-on prototype integration and troubleshooting, including soldering, crimping, and testing.
