Responsibilities
- Design, build, and support Discord’s next-generation experimentation platform, including core services, data pipelines, configuration tooling, statistical analysis tools, and user experiences.
- Collaborate with external and internal stakeholders and customers across Discord.
- Understand and influence product telemetry practices to support experimentation needs.
- Build high-scale data systems and user experiences that power internal teams and product features used by millions of users.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to experiment on product features, machine learning models, and other initiatives.
- Lead and mentor engineers and support their professional growth.
Requirements
- 7+ years of full-stack software engineering experience.
- Experience building internal tools and familiarity with A/B testing and statistical frameworks.
- Experience with experimentation tooling; experience building core components of experimentation platforms from scratch is a plus.
- Experience leading complex technical projects from high-level goals through shippable solutions.
- Experience building systems with strong data governance controls that respect privacy and security principles.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL.
- Experience with relational, NoSQL, and data warehouse solutions.
- Strong product sense and communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
- Track record of developing engineers at multiple levels.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience building human-in-the-loop AI systems and AI product evaluation.
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform or AWS.
- Experience with modern data processing stacks.
- Full-stack development or product engineering experience.
- Deep understanding of statistics, data science, or large-scale data processing.
Compensation and Benefits
- US base salary range: $248,000–$279,000, plus equity and benefits.
- Compensation details reflect base salary only; equity and benefits are additional.
