Staff Software Engineer - Consumer Revenue

Responsibilities
- Accelerate growth of existing revenue streams and establish foundations for new monetization opportunities across Nitro, Shop, Server Boosting, and User Identity.
- Own complex initiatives end to end, partnering with Product to refine requirements, write technical specifications, and deliver user experiences with Design.
- Collaborate with Staff Engineers and cross-functional partners to align systems, products, and long-term technical vision.
- Advise leadership on technical considerations for engineering excellence and high-impact initiatives, and contribute to strategic planning.
- Lead full-stack engineering work across Web, Android, and iOS while setting a high technical bar.
- Prototype features rapidly and use experimentation to guide decisions in ambiguous problem spaces.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, including leading large initiatives from inception through launch.
- Full-stack proficiency with React or React Native and Python backend development.
- Experience with web technologies including React and TypeScript.
- Familiarity with mobile development using React Native; exposure to Kotlin, Objective-C, and Swift.
- Understanding of React performance and client-server performance optimization.
- Strong product sense, technical leadership, ownership, systems thinking, and comfort with ambiguity.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in revenue generation, product monetization, or user engagement systems.
- Track record of attracting users, increasing engagement, improving retention, or optimizing monetization.
- Experience with structured experimentation and data-driven decision-making.
- Experience identifying and resolving bottlenecks in large-scale consumer applications.
- Passion for Discord and its community.
Compensation
- US base salary: $248,000–$279,000 annually, plus equity and benefits.
