Responsibilities

  • Develop strategies and advance engagement with the U.S. Congress.
  • Build and manage relationships with House and Senate lawmakers and staff, particularly Republican stakeholders in the federal government.
  • Support meetings, briefings, hearings, and other Congressional engagements.
  • Facilitate collaboration with civil society and industry partners.
  • Shape strategic initiatives and policy documents related to AI.
  • Prepare organizational leaders for engagements with government officials.
  • Represent the organization in private and public forums.
  • Work cross-functionally with communications, policy, and legal teams.
  • Align diverse internal and external partners and execute through rapid analysis, decision, and action cycles.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience working with Republicans in the U.S. federal government, particularly the legislative branch.
  • Credibility and demonstrated knowledge of U.S. government institutions and processes.
  • Understanding of AI-related policy issues, legislative debates, and regulatory processes.
  • Extensive technology policy experience, including work with the Commerce, Judiciary, and/or Appropriations Committees.
  • Experience managing private-sector and civil-society relationships.
  • Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to explain complex technical and policy concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Sound judgment, integrity, organization, adaptability, and self-direction.
  • Willingness to travel frequently for stakeholder meetings and events.

Nice-to-haves

  • Deep familiarity with emerging AI technologies in the U.S. Congressional context.
  • Experience building coalitions across industry and civil society.
  • Passion for technology and thoughtful understanding of its societal risks and impact.
