Senior Business Systems Analyst, Finance Systems

About the role

Responsibilities

  • Serve as internal functional lead for Workday Business Assets, owning configuration of asset books, asset classes, useful lives, depreciation profiles, capitalization rules, and CIP tracking.
  • Own end-to-end lease administration and lease accounting (ASC 842) across Workday and dedicated lease management platforms for real estate and infrastructure leases, including classification, right-of-use assets, liabilities, amortization, modifications, remeasurements, and disclosure reporting.
  • Partner with Compute, Data Infrastructure, Procurement, Accounting, and stakeholders to manage high-value technology infrastructure assets from procurement through capitalization, transfers, and retirement; design componentization, tagging, and tracking for data centers and compute hardware at scale to meet international regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Support broader Workday Financials as secondary focus, ensuring FDM alignment for asset and lease transactions; partner on future implementations impacting assets and leases.
  • Build and maintain asset rollforwards, depreciation forecasts, lease disclosure schedules, and reconciliations; support month-end and quarter-end close for fixed assets and leases.
  • Collaborate with Integrations, Security, Financials teams, Real Estate, Legal, FP&A, and Tax on lease pipeline and capital planning.
  • Drive ongoing Workday platform expansion, identifying process improvements and automation across asset and lease lifecycle.

Requirements

  • 8+ years in finance systems, ERP implementation, or business systems analysis, with at least 5 years hands-on Workday Financials (including Business Assets), lease management, inventory, or asset management.
  • Deep expertise in Workday Business Assets configuration (asset books, depreciation methods, capitalization thresholds, CIP tracking, mass transactions, transfers, disposals).
  • Hands-on experience with lease accounting under ASC 842 in platforms like CoStar, FinQuery/LeaseQuery, Visual Lease.
  • Strong understanding of fixed asset accounting (capitalization, useful lives, impairment, GL reconciliation) and SOX/compliance.
  • Experience managing high-value technology infrastructure assets (data centers, compute hardware, networking) and tracking at scale.
  • Skilled at translating business requirements into technical solutions; experience with full ERP implementation lifecycles (requirements, configuration, testing, data migration, cutover, hypercare).
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Comfortable in fast-paced, high-growth environments.

Nice-to-Haves

  • CPA or strong accounting/finance background with GAAP/IFRS knowledge (including IFRS 16).
  • Experience with lease portfolios in dedicated platforms and assessing embedded leases in cloud/service contracts under ASC 842.
  • Experience with Workday FDM, Prism Analytics, Accounting Center for automation.
  • Technical familiarity with Claude, SQL, Workday WQL/RaaS, BigQuery, Workday Studio/Core Connector, Python.
  • Knowledge of SOX for fixed assets and leases.
  • Familiarity with Workday Procurement and Supply Chain (PO to asset flows).
  • Prior experience at high-growth tech companies scaling toward IPO with significant capex.
