Responsibilities
- Own Virta’s actuarial and financial value strategy, including savings, ROI, and actuarial methodologies.
- Work with medical and pharmacy claims and other healthcare data to quantify clinical and financial impact.
- Design and evaluate performance guarantees, value-based contracts, and other risk arrangements.
- Advise Commercial Leadership, Product Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, and Executive Leadership on products, pricing, benefits, and go-to-market strategy.
- Represent Virta’s actuarial perspective in sales, renewals, client, prospect, and consultant conversations.
- Evaluate healthcare utilization, pharmacy economics, GLP-1s, and other market trends.
- Establish reusable models, methodologies, tools, and processes for actuarial work at scale.
- Ensure financial models and actuarial methodologies are rigorous, transparent, defensible, and evidence-based.
- Mentor actuarial and analytics team members and support their career development.
Requirements
- FSA or ASA designation.
- 12+ years of relevant experience in healthcare actuarial work, healthcare economics, consulting, payer strategy, employer benefits, or a related field.
- Deep experience using medical and pharmacy claims to measure healthcare cost savings and demonstrate the value of value-based care models.
- Strong SQL skills and the ability to independently work with complex healthcare datasets.
- Experience translating actuarial and financial analyses into business recommendations.
- Experience with performance guarantees, value-based arrangements, pricing strategies, or financial risk.
- Strong communication skills with technical, client, commercial, and executive audiences.
- Ability to use AI and emerging tools to accelerate analysis and improve workflow scalability.

- Experience with healthcare pharmacy economics and GLP-1-related market dynamics.

Compensation
- Annual compensation range: $176,599–$228,000.
