Responsibilities
- Lead the architectural direction of Zocdoc's billing system, scaling for growth in providers, patients, and products.
- Build, maintain, and improve modern, event-driven workflow billing workflows and pricing algorithm systems.
- Collaborate with Finance, Product, & Design to solve provider and internal billing needs with efficient technical solutions.
- Define and implement best practices for high code quality and system reliability.
- Ensure accuracy and stability of the billing engine and financial data, triaging issues with team support.
- Integrate GenAI tools to optimize technical planning and coding efficiency.
Requirements
- 8+ years of engineering experience building and scaling high-performance backend services, ETLs, and APIs in event-driven, distributed systems, with focus on data reliability.
- Familiarity with cloud-native environments (e.g., AWS) and infrastructure as code.
- Experience integrating generative AI tools into workflows.
- Leadership in testing, deployment, and observability practices.
- Superb communication skills and collaborative mindset.
