Responsibilities
- Develop and implement query optimization, transaction management, and distributed data-processing algorithms for the Core Mining Engine.
- Analyze and resolve performance and scalability bottlenecks.
- Work across logical execution-plan representations, resource management, and highly parallel vectorized execution.
- Design and implement high-performance systems for large-scale database workloads.
- Promote best practices in database usage and end-to-end architecture.
- Mentor and develop teammates, provide design and code feedback, and improve the developer experience.
- Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
- Write clean, understandable, testable code; document development procedures and concepts.
- Build, launch, and maintain production features.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science; master's or PhD preferred.
- 8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.
- Significant experience with database internals or core components such as query optimization, query execution, storage engines, or transaction processing for large-scale data-processing systems.
- Experience programming in C++17.
- Strong understanding of complex data structures and algorithms in data management.
- Analytical mindset, curiosity, and interest in improving complex systems.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary: $212,000-$285,000 USD annually.
- Total compensation may include base salary, bonus or commission, equity, health, dental, life insurance, 401(k), and paid time off.
