About the role
Responsibilities
Oversee operation of the roboticized PhIP-Seq platform.
Provide biobank backup support for biospecimen processing and aliquoting.
Support flow cytometry, ELISA, and Quanterix Simoa assays.
Work onsite in a BSL-2 laboratory handling human biofluids and tissues.
Label, log, audit, process, and store biospecimens, including blood and tumor tissue.
Run assays, analyze specimens, document procedures, and deliver processed data.
Maintain accurate sample records, databases, audit trails, QC documentation, laboratory notebooks, and inventories.
Retrieve samples with proper authorization and maintain sample storage according to established guidelines.
Prepare materials, equipment, specimens, reagents, buffers, and staining materials for experiments.
Perform flow cytometry experiments, including cell preparation, cell sorting, and molecular analysis of sorted subsets.
Operate, troubleshoot, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments.
Review the PhIP-Seq queue and communicate assay progress and completion to assay users and principal investigators.
Schedule equipment maintenance and prepare usage and expenditure reports.
Monitor laboratory supplies, initiate purchase requests, and manage supply logistics.
Follow established protocols and aseptic techniques; clean and sterilize instruments, glassware, and equipment.
Requirements
MLS/Medical Technology degree, master's degree, or equivalent.
At least 2–4 years of hands-on laboratory experience in biomedical, clinical, or translational research settings.
Experience working in a BSL-2 laboratory and handling human biofluids and/or tissues.
Ability to maintain precise sample records, logs, audit trails, and QC documentation.
Experience with pipetting and PCR.
Nice-to-Haves
Experience with vacutainers.
Experience with NGS library preparation.
Experience working in CAP- or CLIA-certified laboratories.
Experience with flow cytometry, ELISA, Quanterix Simoa, or PhIP-Seq.
Experience operating roboticized laboratory platforms, including Tecan Fluent systems.
