Manager, Field Engineering

Responsibilities

• Hire, train, grow, and manage a team of Solutions Architects.
• Maintain a robust hiring pipeline.
• Establish relationships across the business to ensure customer and team success.
• Partner with sales leadership to hit sales and consumption targets while ensuring customer success.
• Keep the team ahead of the technical curve by ensuring continuous learning and advanced knowledge of the data+AI technology stack.
• Lead the team through best practices for technical qualification, proof of concepts, architecture discussions, and product demonstrations.
• Create a positive team culture and foster working relationships between Field Engineering, Sales, and other internal partners.
• Work with teams such as Product Management, Engineering, and Customer Success.
• Influence and review complex architectures, guiding the team and customers toward scalable solutions.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience building and leading technical pre-sales teams, including hiring, onboarding, coaching, and enabling pre-sales professionals.
• 7+ years of experience in the Data + AI space with a technical product (data warehousing, big data, data science, machine learning, or AI).
• Deep technical understanding of the impact that Data + AI can drive within various industry segments, with focus on Manufacturing.
• Technical competence to earn the trust of Engineering talent and leadership.
• Experience as a trusted advisor to technical executives guiding strategic data infrastructure decisions.
• Experience hiring pre-sales professionals, ramping them up, promoting them, identifying performance issues, and implementing improvement plans.
• Demonstrated architectural influence to review complex architectures and guide toward ideal scalable solutions.
