Build and own scalable full-stack systems for eligibility, education funding ledgers, marketplace payments, and internal tools. The role requires 3+ years of software development experience, strong TypeScript skills, and experience delivering 0-to-1 products in startup environments.

Responsibilities
- Own features end-to-end across ideation, technical design, implementation, deployment, and iteration.
- Build and ship 0-to-1 products and systems, turning ambiguous ideas into scalable, production-ready solutions.
- Architect and develop customer experiences using TypeScript, AWS Lambda, Next.js, and other technologies.
- Design, write, and execute tests for application robustness and reliability.
- Design and implement scalable, high-performance database models.
- Develop and maintain public and internal APIs supporting mobile applications and other systems.
- Improve the Marketplace platform in collaboration with Product.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and other cross-functional teams to identify needs and formulate solutions.
- Make pragmatic tradeoffs between speed and scalability, with a bias toward shipping and learning quickly.
- Contribute to system design, platform management, code reviews, capacity planning, and architectural decisions.
- Own production systems, including monitoring, debugging, and continuous improvement.
- Identify gaps, risks, and opportunities while operating autonomously.
Requirements
- 3–5+ years of software development experience.
- Proficiency with TypeScript for robust, scalable applications.
- Experience at early- to mid-stage technology startups.
- Experience building or significantly contributing to 0-to-1 products or features.
- Comfort with ambiguity and translating loosely defined problems into actionable plans.
- Entrepreneurial, ownership-oriented mindset.
- Strong communication skills and ability to present new approaches.
- Understanding of Agile practices and adaptability to evolving project needs.
- Track record of shipping quickly and iterating based on feedback across the software development lifecycle.
- Must be authorized to work full-time in the United States.
Preferred Skills
- AWS technologies and scalable software development.
- Experience in regulated industries such as fintech, GovTech, or healthtech.
- Double-entry ledgers, payments, Stripe Payments, and money movement.
- End-to-end service ownership, including infrastructure maintenance.
- Terraform, CI/CD, and observability tools.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual salary range: $160,000–$180,000, depending on experience, interview performance, and location.
