Responsibilities
- Work on distributed processing engines and distributed databases.
- Develop high-quality, testable, and performant backend software using technologies such as Python, MongoDB, CDC, and Kafka.
- Build data platforms, data lakes, and data ingestion systems that operate at scale.
- Design, develop, code, and test software systems, improvements, products, and user-facing experiences.
- Work with software architects and senior developers on advanced development projects.
- Contribute to product design and implementation discussions.
- Develop custom programming languages within the platform.
- Take projects from initial concept through production and solve complex implementation challenges.
- Mentor less-experienced developers.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in backend engineering roles.
- Experience writing testable and performant backend code.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Ability to work autonomously and explore creative solutions.
Technical Environment
- Big data and distributed technologies including Aurora, Trino, Presto, Pinot, Iceberg, and Flink.
Compensation
- US salary range: $168,000–$280,000 annually, plus benefits and equity.
