Responsibilities
- Lead the definition and execution of key strategic initiatives across part of the engineering organization.
- Work autonomously and remain accountable for strategic execution.
- Build both back-end and front-end systems in collaboration with designers, product managers, researchers, and data analysts.
- Lead strategic projects within the R&D organization using deep domain knowledge.
- Assess project progress, risks, and challenges to guide resource allocation and prioritization.
- Contribute to technical architecture for systems serving customer support requests at scale.
- Balance agility with scalability, availability, continuous deployment, and incremental releases.
- Contribute to all phases of software development, including ideation, prototyping, design, and implementation.
- Combine hands-on development with technical leadership and architecture work.
- Use AI-powered developer tools to improve engineering productivity.
- Participate in hiring, mentoring, and career development for engineers.
- Raise technical standards for performance, reliability, and operational excellence.
Requirements
- Significant, demonstrated impact on products and/or engineering teams.
- Deep knowledge of a high-level programming language, such as Ruby, Python, or Perl.
- Experience with distributed systems.
- 2+ years of experience as the primary technical leader for a team.
- Experience collaborating with technical leaders, product teams, and designers.
- Proven track record of delivering value to customers or users.
- Strong product strategy and cross-disciplinary collaboration skills.
