Engineer In Residence: Medication AI

Responsibilities

• Own the build across conversational experience, medication logic, patient and caregiver workflows, and deployment.
• Design for trust, clarity, accessibility, and low-friction use by older adults and people with low digital literacy.
• Decide where generative AI adds value in explanation, summarization, and coordination, and where deterministic safety checks should dominate.
• Work with patients, caregivers, and clinicians to identify where the product reduces confusion and where it may create risk.
• Work with the build team on wedge selection, local market fit, and a durable chronic-care platform.
• Build a medication-management workflow that helps older adults understand their medications, purposes, and potential conflicts.
• Develop voice-friendly or chat-based interfaces for lower-digital-literacy users.
• Create caregiver and clinician views that turn daily logs into useful summaries and follow-up context.
• Build adherence, symptom, and condition tracking to improve continuity of care.

Requirements

• Strong product-engineering ability and meaningful experience in health technology, consumer health applications, messaging products, or conversational systems.
• Strong UX judgment under trust and accessibility constraints, especially for elderly or low-digital-literacy users.
• Experience with generative AI systems, safe summarization, voice or chat interfaces, or messaging-platform integrations such as LINE or WhatsApp.
• Ability to build both simple patient-facing experiences and structured caregiver- or clinician-facing workflows.
• Ability to use AI coding assistants and modern AI tools while maintaining sound safety judgment.
• Mandarin fluency.
• Ability to work on-site in Taiwan for the duration of the residency.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in medication management, care coordination, elder care, or chronic-disease support products.
• Experience with speech interfaces, multilingual UX, or family-sharing workflows.
• Founder or founding-engineer experience in consumer health or workflow-heavy products.

Compensation and Engagement

• 12-week, full-time, on-site build residency in Taiwan.
• Compensation: $10,000 per month for 12 weeks, $30,000 total.
• This is a contract role during the residency.
• If the build leads to a funded company, the next step may be a founder-level role with meaningful equity upside.
