About the job

Responsibilities

Console, Settings & Configuration

  • Own the end-to-end product experience for organization-level settings, team management, and review configuration.
  • Make complex configuration understandable and accessible for technical administrators and non-technical buyers.
  • Partner with engineering to define scalable APIs, UI flows, and data models for configuration across teams, repositories, and deployment types.

Access Control: RBAC & Custom Roles

  • Own the permission model, including roles, scopes, and capabilities across settings, configuration, billing, and member management.
  • Ship custom roles that let administrators define permission sets.
  • Define permission granularity and scoping across organization, team, and repository levels, including inheritance and override behavior.
  • Own audit logs and access trails showing who changed what and when.
  • Design least-privilege defaults and clear, predictable permission surfaces.

Billing & Subscription Management

  • Own pricing display, plan management, seat-based licensing, upgrades, downgrades, and invoicing.
  • Reduce friction in purchase and upgrade paths, including self-serve flows and correct proration.
  • Own plan entitlements and feature gating across the application.
  • Manage subscription lifecycle edge cases, including seat reconciliation, true-ups, renewals, failed payments, dunning, downgrades, and mid-cycle changes.
  • Support enterprise purchasing, including annual contracts, purchase-order-based and offline billing, tax, and invoicing requirements.
  • Partner with Finance and Engineering on lifecycle correctness and billing infrastructure such as Stripe, Chargebee, or similar platforms.

Onboarding & Activation

  • Own the onboarding wizard and first-run experience for new organizations and individual users.
  • Drive activation metrics such as time-to-first-review, time-to-team-invite, and setup completion rates.
  • Identify and eliminate major setup-funnel drop-off points.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product management experience, ideally at a B2B SaaS or developer tools company.
  • Technical fluency, including the ability to read code, understand APIs, and collaborate closely with engineers.
  • Track record of owning complex, multi-stakeholder product areas such as admin consoles, permissions/RBAC systems, or billing systems.
  • Strong ability to simplify complex configuration and access experiences without removing necessary depth.
  • Comfortable moving from ambiguous problems to clear specifications independently.
  • Excellent writing and precise communication skills.
  • Low ego and high ownership.

Nice to Have

  • Experience at a developer tooling, DevOps, or code intelligence company.
  • Direct experience with RBAC, permissions, identity/access systems, role models, scopes, and audit logging.
  • Experience with billing infrastructure such as Stripe, Chargebee, or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with multi-tenant SaaS architectures and audit/compliance requirements such as SOC 2.
  • Working knowledge of GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, or Azure DevOps.
  • Experience working with small, high-output engineering teams.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary, equity, and benefits.
  • Professional development opportunities.
  • Opportunity to work on technology with real-world impact.
