Role Scope
- Engineer substation designs for campus interconnection: HV yards and MV distribution substations in the reference design.
- Own the physical and electrical design: layouts, bus configurations, and equipment specs to utility standards.
- Interface with utilities and consultants: requirements translated into designs that pass review the first time.
- Standardize the substation: one design stamped across sites instead of bespoke yards.
Requirements
- Designed HV substations: physical, one-line, and protection interfaces.
- Taken substation packages through utility review.
- Specify transformers, breakers, and switchgear at transmission class.
- Supported substation construction and energization.
- Productize designs rather than redrawing them.
Nice-to-Haves
- 138kV-plus experience.
- Grounding studies (IEEE 80).
