Product and Regional Risk Manager

Responsibilities

• Conduct and maintain risk assessments and RCSAs across core and emerging product lines, identifying key risk exposures and recommending controls and mitigants.
• Perform risk assessments for regional entities in collaboration with regional and global stakeholders.
• Maintain the enterprise risk taxonomy, risk appetite framework, and key risk indicator (KRI) reporting.
• Own and oversee the regulated entity risk management framework, including risk appetite, taxonomy, governance structures, and reporting of material risks.
• Manage operational, regulatory, liquidity, safeguarding, outsourcing, ICT, and conduct risks in alignment with MiCAR, E-Money Regulations, and DORA.
• Partner with Product and Engineering to embed risk considerations into product development.
• Identify and escalate emerging risks to senior management and governance bodies.
• Use GRC tooling, automation, and data analytics to scale risk monitoring and reporting.
• Monitor MiCAR and broader digital-asset regulatory developments affecting product and regional risk profiles.
• Serve as the primary contact for risk-related engagement with the Central Bank of Ireland and other regulators.
• Lead risk reporting to the Board and committees and support regulatory submissions, reviews, and inspections.
• Prepare concise risk reporting for senior leadership and governance bodies.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Compliance, Legal, and Finance.
• Contribute to risk training and education and foster organizational risk awareness.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in enterprise risk management or a related discipline, ideally in financial services, fintech, crypto, consulting, or audit.
• Strong understanding of risk frameworks and assessment methodologies.
• Experience conducting risk assessments and RCSAs and translating findings into actionable recommendations.
• Familiarity with digital-asset markets and MiCAR regulatory obligations.
• Experience using technology, automation, and data-driven approaches to build scalable risk programs.
• Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to synthesize data and present findings to senior stakeholders and governance bodies.
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and collaborate effectively in a fully remote environment.
• Candidates must be based in or willing to relocate to the Republic of Ireland and legally authorized to work there.
• Appointment as the designated PCF-14 function is subject to approval by the Central Bank of Ireland and Board of Directors.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of crypto and digital-asset markets, Kraken products, and the competitive landscape.
• Experience with a GRC tool.
