Manager, Sales - Alfred Music

About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, coach, and inspire a team of Account Executives to achieve sales results and quota attainment.
  • Own and improve strategies that increase revenue, sales pipeline velocity, average deal size, and win rates.
  • Architect and oversee strategic management of Top 100 accounts, including executive relationships, retention, expansion, and renewals.
  • Own team pipeline tracking and forecasting in partnership with sales leadership.
  • Support Alfred Customer Services and MakeMusic Studio teams and collaborate with Marketing and Product on go-to-market initiatives.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies for K-12 and private music education markets.
  • Refine sales playbooks, cadences, and reporting to improve consistency, efficiency, and accountability.
  • Balance leadership responsibilities with hands-on ownership and closing of a personal book of business.
  • Ensure accurate pipeline, activity, and performance tracking using HubSpot or an equivalent CRM.
  • Prospect wholesale opportunities and identify cross-sell opportunities into MakeMusic Studio.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of sales experience, including quota ownership and closing new business.
  • 2+ years of experience leading or mentoring quota-carrying sales teams.
  • Deep understanding of music and music education in the K-12 market.
  • Experience working with independent music stores and music dealers.
  • Strong command of wholesale discount structures, tier-based pricing, MAP policy enforcement, and inventory sell-through velocity.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and building scalable pipeline.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Strategic thinking, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Metrics-driven approach and ability to establish accountability for KPIs and goals.
  • Ability to analyze pipeline, conversion rates, and deal velocity to improve forecasting and team performance.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace, HubSpot or equivalent CRM, and other sales tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities with minimal supervision in a dynamic, collaborative environment.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Understanding of sales methodologies beyond traditional account management.
  • Ability to perform basic analysis of customer health metrics and sell-through data.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Annual salary range in Colorado: $91,151–$151,919.
