Senior Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and build high-performance, customer-facing features end-to-end using React and Node.js/TypeScript, from concept through production deployment.
• Architect and optimize public and internal backend APIs for throughput, latency, and reliability at enterprise scale.
• Implement and manage caching strategies to minimize response times and database pressure.
• Profile, diagnose, and resolve performance bottlenecks across React rendering, state management, database queries, and network I/O.
• Model and optimize data access patterns across PostgreSQL and MongoDB, selecting appropriate datastores and indexing strategies.
• Improve codebase and architecture reliability, maintainability, and scalability.
• Collaborate with engineers, product management, and product design to define and deliver APIs and features.
• Mentor and coach engineers on engineering practices, performance, and testing.
• Participate in the team's on-call rotation.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience working on large-scale systems or services.
• Strong Node.js and TypeScript expertise for backend services and APIs.
• Production experience building full-stack applications with React, including component architecture, state management, rendering performance, and modern tooling.
• Deep experience with PostgreSQL schema design, query optimization, indexing, and migrations.
• Production experience with MongoDB document modeling, aggregation pipelines, and scaling patterns.
• Hands-on experience designing and tuning Redis caching layers, including cache invalidation, write-through/write-behind patterns, and TTL management.
• Experience resolving performance problems using profiling tools, APM instrumentation, load testing, and capacity planning.
• Experience with Docker and cloud environments; AWS and/or Azure experience preferred.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with an interest in mentoring teammates.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with RBAC systems, multi-tenant platforms, or identity and access management products.
• Experience designing and shipping APIs at scale, including versioning, rate limiting, schema design, and SDK readiness.
• Experience with event-driven architectures, pub/sub systems, or asynchronous job processing.
• Familiarity with Datadog, New Relic, OpenTelemetry, or similar observability and performance tooling.
• Experience with SSO, OIDC, OAuth 2.0, and enterprise security patterns.
