Responsibilities
- Shape the AI/ML roadmap and long-term vision for Chess.com in partnership with leadership
- Expand AI usage in products such as Game Review, Play Coach, and FairPlay
- Lead new AI initiatives including human-like bots and personalized coaching
- Partner deeply with engineering from technical approach through delivery
- Write crisp specs, unblock teams, reprioritize, and ship
- Define success metrics and quality bars for AI features with incomplete data
- Use AI daily to prototype, evaluate models, and accelerate development
Requirements
- 7+ years in product management, including 4+ years shipping consumer-facing AI/ML products
- Experience with both LLMs and quantitative ML models
- Technical fluency: collaborate with engineers, understand systems, read/produce AI-assisted code, work with model evals and metrics
- Excellent product taste with chess context awareness
- High-velocity communicator comfortable operating primarily in writing across time zones
- AI-native workflow: daily use of AI tools to prototype and explore ideas
Nice-to-Haves
- Deep familiarity with Chess.com products and chess history as an AI proving ground
