Data Science & Analytics Manager

Leads Clay’s Data Science and Analytics team, managing data scientists and analytics engineers while setting technical standards and measurement frameworks. The role partners with executives and cross-functional leaders to shape product and business strategy through experimentation, analytics, and data storytelling.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow the Data Science and Analytics team, including managing, hiring, onboarding, coaching, and developing data scientists and analytics engineers.
  • Set technical standards for experimentation, analysis, insights, metric design, and data modeling.
  • Prioritize high-impact work and ensure data efforts influence business outcomes.
  • Partner with Product, Marketing, Sales, Finance, Partnerships, and executives on data-informed decisions.
  • Shape product and business strategy through analysis, opportunity sizing, insights, and internal data narratives.
  • Define business and product measurement frameworks, champion key metrics, and ensure instrumentation and monitoring.
  • Develop a deep understanding of users, buyers, and prospects in partnership with user research and customer feedback teams.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of overall experience in data science or analytics.
  • 2+ years managing data scientists and/or analytics engineers.
  • Strong technical depth in experimentation, analytics, statistics, data modeling, and metric design.
  • Expert understanding of acquisition, activation, engagement, and retention funnels for B2B or B2C products.
  • Experience partnering with senior leaders across Product, go-to-market, and Finance.
  • Proven ability to influence product roadmaps and connect data work to business outcomes.
  • Excellent data storytelling and communication skills.
  • Experience hiring, coaching, and developing senior individual contributors.
  • Excitement about AI-native ways of working.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Snowflake, GitHub, dbt, Hex, Sigma, or Dagster.
  • Experience in product-led growth or B2B SaaS, especially usage-based pricing.
  • Experience with embedded or hub-and-spoke data team models.
  • Experience scaling data teams through rapid company growth.
  • Experience working on AI products.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary range: $240,000–$300,000.
