Trust Engineer
As a Trust Engineer, you will be the engineering backbone of Harvey's compliance and assurance programs, building data infrastructure, automation tooling, and AI-powered workflows to scale audit readiness, continuous monitoring, and risk reporting.
About the job
Role Overview
Some of the world's largest companies and their law firms use Harvey's AI capabilities to deliver world-class client services at unprecedented scale and efficiency. Our customers depend on us to deliver a secure, trustworthy, and compliant platform and earning that trust is a business enabler we value above all else. In this role, you'll report to the Head of Trust and serve as the engineering backbone of Harvey's compliance and assurance programs. You'll build and own the data infrastructure, automation tooling, and AI-powered workflows that allow our Trust team to scale audit readiness, continuous monitoring, and risk reporting without scaling headcount. This means selecting best-in-class compliance automation platforms, building our own compliance data layer, and developing AI-powered workflows to automate evidence collection, control testing, and assurance reporting.
What You'll Do
- Own the implementation and optimization of Harvey's compliance automation tooling to automate workflows across compliance programs
- Design and build a compliance data layer in Snowflake — ingesting signals from infrastructure, security tools, and SaaS platforms to create a real-time view of control health and audit readiness
- Develop AI agents and automated pipelines for evidence collection, control testing, and continuous monitoring at scale
- Partner with Engineering and Security to map technical implementations to compliance controls and maintain a living, accurate control inventory
- Build reporting layers that translate compliance signals into clear narratives on risk posture and certification status for executive and cross-functional audiences
What You Have
- 6+ years in software, data, or security engineering with exposure to compliance automation or trust and assurance programs
- Hands-on experience building data pipelines on Snowflake, BigQuery, or comparable platforms; strong SQL and Python
- Experience implementing or administering compliance automation platforms
- Working knowledge of at least one compliance framework — enough to understand control requirements and map them to technical implementations
- Experience building AI-powered workflows or agents using LLMs
Nice to Have
- Experience at a high-growth SaaS company building or scaling a Trust or compliance engineering function from the ground up
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure) and how infrastructure-as-code tools connect to compliance evidence
- Prior involvement in government compliance programs
Compensation
$220,000 - $330,000 USD
Skills
Snowflake, BigQuery, SQL, Python, LLMs, AWS, GCP, Azure
