Senior Manager - Network and Information Security

Responsibilities

Leadership, Team, and Vendor Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop network and security engineers.
  • Set priorities, manage workloads, and ensure 24/7 operational coverage through on-call rotations and escalation protocols.
  • Manage external vendors against SLAs, quality standards, and outcomes.

Network Architecture and Design

  • Own end-to-end enterprise network architecture across LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, wireless, and OT/IT segmentation.
  • Architect highly available solutions for manufacturing operations, IoT devices, and enterprise applications.
  • Lead routing and switching design and equipment lifecycle management.
  • Maintain architecture diagrams, standards documentation, and lifecycle roadmaps.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and vendors.

Cloud Networking

  • Design and manage AWS VPCs, Transit Gateways, Direct Connect, VPNs, Security Groups, and NACLs.
  • Architect secure, resilient hybrid connectivity between on-premises sites and cloud services.
  • Define network guardrails, tagging standards, and organization-level policies with engineering and DevOps teams.
  • Optimize cloud networking costs and performance.

Network Security

  • Design and enforce policies for firewalls, ZTNA, NAC, and micro-segmentation.
  • Manage firewalls, IDS/IPS, proxies, and security appliances throughout their lifecycles.
  • Oversee vulnerability assessments and penetration-test scoping and remediation.
  • Support NIST, SOC 2, and ISO 27001 compliance through control documentation, audit evidence, and remediation.

Operations and Incident Management

  • Lead network operations across enterprise and manufacturing environments.
  • Serve as the senior escalation point for network and security incidents.
  • Oversee monitoring platforms, alerting thresholds, dashboards, and response runbooks.
  • Drive root-cause analyses and corrective action plans.
  • Manage ticketing workflows and SLA adherence.

Stakeholder Collaboration and Governance

  • Act as the primary liaison to IT leadership, OT engineering, manufacturing operations, and engineering teams.
  • Participate in capacity planning, capital budgeting, and vendor contract negotiations.
  • Present network strategy, risk posture, and project updates to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 10+ years of progressive network engineering experience, including at least 3 years in people management or a technical lead role.
  • Experience architecting enterprise-grade network solutions in manufacturing, industrial, or highly regulated environments.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with AWS networking services, including VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, Route 53, WAF, and Security Groups.
  • Experience managing network security devices and platforms, including NGFWs, IDS/IPS, NAC, CASB/SASE, and web filtering.
  • Strong knowledge of BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MSTP, VLANs, and QoS.
  • Experience designing and managing wireless networks across large, distributed campuses.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Cisco IOS-XE/XR/NX-OS, Palo Alto, Juniper, Meraki, or Fortinet experience.
  • AWS networking and security services, including VPN, WAF, Security Groups, and NACLs.
  • SIEM platforms such as Rapid7, Splunk, or Palo Alto.
  • NAC platforms such as Cisco ISE or Aruba ClearPass.
  • Vulnerability scanning tools.
  • VXLAN, DMVPN, MPLS, 802.1x, and enterprise Wi-Fi 6/6E, WPA3, WLAN controllers, RF design, and site surveys.
  • Certifications such as CCNP Enterprise, CCIE, AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty, CISSP, CISM, Palo Alto PCNSE, AWS Solutions Architect – Professional, or ITIL v4 Foundation.

Compensation

  • Salary range: $200,000–$280,000 USD.
  • Additional compensation includes equity and benefits.
