Senior Software Engineer - Cloud Security

Build secure, large-scale platforms, controls, monitoring, and AI-augmented pipelines that improve Snowflake’s cloud security posture across hundreds of millions of assets and multiple cloud providers. Requires 5+ years of software engineering experience and expertise in secure distributed systems.

Responsibilities

  • Build solutions and services that operate, protect, and govern security posture across hundreds of millions of assets and AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud environments.
  • Automate cloud security controls for IAM, detection and monitoring, configuration management, and data protection.
  • Build real-time security monitoring, logging, and alerting using Snowflake technologies.
  • Define and maintain public-cloud security baselines, policies, and standards.
  • Design and operate continuous, AI-augmented pipelines that ingest posture and telemetry data, score risk, and surface high-impact issues.
  • Own security workstreams end to end and contribute through design reviews, mentorship, and technical guidance.
  • Apply software engineering best practices, including documentation, testing, and observability.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience designing and owning secure, large-scale systems.
  • Working knowledge of secure architecture principles and threat modeling.
  • Experience building software in one or more of Java, C++, Go, or Python.
  • Familiarity with distributed architectures and scalable APIs such as gRPC and REST.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Ability to make data-driven, scalable decisions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience applying AI/ML to security problems such as detection, risk scoring, and prioritization.
  • Experience building data pipelines for AI/ML security applications.
  • Proficiency writing, debugging, and optimizing SQL.
  • Strong grasp of algorithms and data structures.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and infrastructure as code using Terraform or Pulumi.
  • Experience designing scalable, concurrent, resilient services for high-demand, multi-cloud environments.
