Staff Software Engineer - Insurance

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of systems powering insurance operations, including patient identification, pricing estimates, provider matching, and claims.
• Build data-intensive, ML-powered platforms serving patients and providers.
• Develop scalable systems that improve insurance accuracy, reliability, and automation across payers and states.
• Mentor engineers and write high-impact code at the intersection of healthcare data and payer operations.
• Build ML models, OCR pipelines, eligibility automation, claims automation, and human-in-the-loop workflows.
• Define solutions for ambiguous problems, coordinate across teams, and deliver shipped software.

• Think at the platform level and create abstractions that help other teams move faster and more safely.
• Find structure in complex, variable payer data and build reliable systems around it.
• Remain hands-on and write code where it has the highest leverage.
• Take ownership of outcomes rather than tasks.
• Communicate precisely through design documents, written communication, and cross-functional meetings.

Compensation and Benefits

• Base pay range: $224,000-$336,000.
