Responsibilities
- Build and ship backend features in a Django monolith, spanning document workflows such as viewing, editing, embeds, and exports.
- Contribute to greenfield projects and integrations that expand the product.
- Improve performance and reliability by optimizing database queries, endpoints, and caching layers.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and frontend engineers to deliver reliable user experiences at scale.
- Incorporate teammate feedback and continuously develop engineering skills.
- Write thoughtful code reviews and robust automated tests.
- Maintain strong observability and performance practices.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience building backend applications.
- Solid experience with Python.
- Ability to optimize endpoint performance and database queries.
- Strong advocacy for automated testing.
- Familiarity with engineering best practices.
- User-centric, empathetic, and passionate approach to software development.
