About the job
What You’ll Do
- Build and maintain highly scalable backend services and APIs that power developer-facing platform capabilities
- Develop secure, well-documented, versioned APIs with a strong emphasis on developer experience, consistency and usability
- Lead projects from planning to delivery independently
- Partner with Product leaders on ideation and implementation
- Collaborate across multiple tech teams to design and deliver impactful features
- Advocate for team needs and get involved with strategic decisions
Requirements
- Professional experience working within software engineering teams
- Exceptional interpersonal skills
- 3+ years of building backend services with common systems languages (Go, Java, Python, C#); must be open to learning and using Go
- Track record of success in terms of ability to execute projects
- Deep understanding of API concepts and designs
- Advanced understanding of SQL, experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases
- Familiarity with modern web infrastructure components (e.g. caching, serverless, API gateways, etc) and how to manage them
- Understanding of system design, data structures, and algorithms, and experience creating and evaluating technical design documents
- Experience with cloud providers such as AWS/Azure/GCP/OCI and managing infrastructure assets using IaC tooling such as Terraform
