Responsibilities
- Design multi-agent systems with coding-focused agents, such as code writers, reviewers, testers, and deployers.
- Write prompts, logic, and scaffolding that guide agent behavior.
- Enable agents to use file systems, test runners, version control, and internal APIs.
- Evaluate and refine agent output, performance, collaboration patterns, and feedback loops.
- Prototype coding assistant workflows using open-source large language models and internal knowledge bases.
- Lead architecture discussions on agentic build pipelines and automated pull request generation.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to build fast, AI-powered interfaces for internal tooling.
- Help define evaluation frameworks for AI contributions, including accuracy, speed, and impact.
- Mentor teammates on combining TypeScript and AI tools for UI prototyping.
- Explore safe and secure approaches to integrating generative AI into a public-sector codebase.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Proficiency with part of the technology stack: Java, TypeScript, React, and MySQL.
- Extensive applied experience with AI-assisted development tools, such as Cursor, Windsurf, LLM APIs, code-generation platforms, vector databases, agentic frameworks, or custom-built systems.
- Strong product mindset and interest in building technology with real-world impact.
- Bias toward experimentation, iteration, and continuous learning.
- Comfort operating in ambiguity and helping define best practices in an evolving technical environment.
