Responsibilities
- Own and deliver customer-facing search features and workflows across frontend and backend systems, from technical planning through production.
- Build AI-powered product experiences end to end, including backend services and user interfaces.
- Build responsive user experiences with Vue while contributing to Python and Django services.
- Design and improve search, indexing, and retrieval systems for large volumes of data.
- Develop and maintain data workflows using Elasticsearch, Kafka, Celery, and MySQL.
- Make technical trade-offs balancing customer experience, delivery speed, performance, reliability, and maintainability.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and engineering teams to shape solutions and deliver high-quality experiences.
- Troubleshoot production issues and improve performance, reliability, observability, and maintainability.
- Participate in on-call and incident response rotations.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience building and maintaining production software.
- Strong experience across frontend and backend systems, independently delivering features throughout the application stack.
- Proficiency with Python or a similar programming language and Django or a comparable web framework.
- Experience building maintainable user-facing applications with Vue.js or another modern JavaScript framework.
- Experience with Elasticsearch or comparable search technology, or significant experience with data-intensive systems.
- Experience making technical trade-offs in complex production systems.
- Experience diagnosing production issues and improving system reliability and operational health.
- Experience with TypeScript in a large codebase.
- Experience with design systems or shared component libraries.
- Flexibility to adjust working hours for overlap with teammates in US time zones.

- Proactive use of AI tools to improve productivity and delivery.
Compensation
- Ireland: €95,000–€110,000 annually, depending on experience.
- Bulgaria: €6,000+ gross per month, depending on experience.
- Up to 10% travel for team collaboration, customer engagements, and company events.
